Got a big old cast list for Almost, Maine, Orlando Theatre Project’s last production, including many of the actors we’ve seen in OTP productions over the years.
Here you go:
Linda Landry, Mark Lainer, Darby Ballard, Doug Truelsen, Jennifer Christa Palmer, Ryan Gigliotti, Beth Cunningham, Allison DeCaro, Eric Pinder, Krista Lynn Pigott, David Kelley, Richard Width, T. Robert Pigott, Ame Livingston, Mark Whitten, S. Elizabeth Block, David Veitch, Christine Decker and Philip Nolen.
OTP is presenting Almost, Maine for three performances only on Valentine’s Day weekend in the Goldman Theater (is this everybody’s favorite theater nowadays? It may be mine.) at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
I’m looking forward to seeing lots of those actors again, but most of all I’ll be there to celebrate OTP, a company that has given me some of the most pleasurable theater experiences I’ve had. I hope that lots of other people do the same.
Here’s the official word (and how to get tickets):
Orlando Theatre Project presents ‘Almost, Maine’
A Central Florida Theatrical Event
Orlando Theatre Project, an Actors’ Equity Association theatre bringing the finest professional theatre to audiences in Central Florida for 24 years, proudly presents a Central Florida theatrical event – Almost, Maine, a play by John Cariani. The production is sponsored in part by Lowndes Drosdick Doster Kantor & Reed, PA.
Almost, Maine takes place in the mythical northern New England town of Almost, Maine. On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote town. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
Originally produced by OTP as a staged reading in January 2009, Almost, Maine returns as the company’s final fully-staged production. OTP is preparing to suspend operations at the end of this theatrical season. This charming, enchanting, poignant and humorous play provides the perfect farewell. Almost, Maine will be directed by Jim Howard.
Because this is the end of a theatrical era for OTP, it was important for the company to bring back some old friends and past OTP members to participate. Each of the nine midwinter tales of Almost, Maine will be performed by a different pair of actors, and the cast list reads as a Who’s Who of Central Florida performers: Linda Landry, Mark Lainer, Darby Ballard, Doug Truelsen, Jennifer Christa Palmer, Ryan Gigliotti, Beth Cunningham, Allison DeCaro, Eric Pinder, Krista Lynn Pigott, David Kelley, Richard Width, T. Robert Pigott, Ame Livingston, Mark Whitten, S. Elizabeth Block, David Veitch, Christine Decker and Philip Nolen.
Almost, Maine will be presented for three performances only – Friday, February 12 and Saturday February 13 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 14 at 2 p.m. – at the Goldman Theater in the John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center. Tickets are $20 all shows / all seats. Ticket sales are cash or check only. For more information or reservations, please call Orlando Theatre Project at 407-491-1397.
